GB 13960.1-2008 Safety of transportable motor operated electric tools—Part 1:General requirements
Abstract
This standard applies to portable power tools driven by motors or electromagnets, hereinafter referred to as "tools". The rated voltage of AC single-phase and DC is not more than 250V, and the rated voltage of AC three-phase is not more than 480V. The maximum rated input power does not exceed 3,700W.
Where applicable, this standard addresses the common hazards caused by tools when people use them or reasonably foresee misuse of the tools.
Tools with electric heating elements are within the scope of this standard. The requirements for these heating elements are specified in the relevant sections of GB 4706.
For tools that are not isolated from the power grid and whose basic insulation is not designed for the rated voltage of the tools, the requirements are specified in Appendix B.
