This document describes the immunity requirements and test methods for electrical and electronic equipment in operating state against ringing waves generated by low-voltage power supplies, control, and signal lines in public or non-public networks. The purpose of this document is to establish a common benchmark for evaluating the immunity of electrical and electronic equipment to ringing waves. The test methods specified in this document describe a consistent method for evaluating the immunity of equipment or systems to defined phenomena. Note: According to IEC GUIDE 107, this document is a basic EMC publication for use by product standardization technical committees. As stated in IEC GUIDE 107, product standardization technical committees are responsible for determining whether to adopt this immunity standard, and if so, they are responsible for determining appropriate test levels and performance criteria. The National Electromagnetic Compatibility Standardization Technical Committee and its sub-technical committees are willing to cooperate with product standardization technical committees to evaluate the special immunity requirements of their products.
