This document defines the terms and definitions of fire dampers, smoke exhaust fire dampers, smoke exhaust valves, normally closed air supply valves, and automatic smoke exhaust windows, and stipulates their classification, materials, accessories, appearance and tolerances, technical requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage, and transportation. It also describes the corresponding test methods. This document applies to the design, manufacture, and inspection of fire dampers installed in ventilation and air conditioning systems or kitchen smoke exhaust systems of industrial and civil buildings and underground structures, smoke exhaust fire dampers and smoke exhaust valves installed in mechanical smoke exhaust systems, and normally closed air supply valves installed in mechanical pressurized air supply systems, as well as automatic smoke exhaust windows used in natural smoke exhaust systems. Note: Fire dampers used in other scenarios should be implemented in accordance with this document.
