Abstract
The chapter in GB 4706.1—2005 is replaced by the following content:
This part concerns the safety of electric air purifiers for household and similar purposes, with a rated voltage of no more than 250V for single-phase appliances and no more than 480V for other appliances.
Air purifiers that are not intended for general household use but may still pose a risk to the public, such as those intended for use by non-professional personnel in shops, light industry, and farms, are also within the scope of this part.
In practical terms, the common hazards associated with the air purifiers covered by this part are ones that all people in and around residential areas may encounter.
