Abstract
This standard specifies the safety requirements and test methods for power storage batteries (hereinafter referred to as batteries) used in electric vehicles, whether they are individual batteries, battery packs, or systems. This standard applies to rechargeable energy storage devices such as lithium-ion batteries and nickel-metal hydride batteries used in electric vehicles.
