GB/T 4340.2-2025 Metallic materials—Vickers hardness test—Part 2:Verification and calibration of testing machines
Abstract
This document specifies the inspection and calibration methods for Vickers hardness testers and diagonal measurement systems used to determine Vickers hardness according to GB/T 4340.1.
The direct inspection methods specified in this document are applicable to the inspection and calibration of hardness testers, indenters, and diagonal measurement systems. The indirect inspection methods are applicable to the whole-machine inspection of Vickers hardness testers using standard blocks.
If the Vickers hardness tester is also used for hardness testing with other methods, the Vickers hardness tester shall be inspected separately according to the corresponding method.
This document is also applicable to the inspection and calibration of portable Vickers hardness testers.
This document is not applicable to various hardness testers that measure hardness according to other different principles (such as ultrasonic impedance method).
