GB 3836.8-2014 Explosive atmospheres—Part 8:Equipment protection by type of protection “n”
Abstract
This part of GB 3836 specifies the requirements for the structure, testing, and marking of electrical equipment protected by "n" type protection in Class II explosive gas environments. This part applies to electrical equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 15 kV DC or AC RMS.
This part of GB 3836 applies to non-sparking electrical equipment, and also to those electrical equipment that generate arcs, sparks, or have hot surfaces, and whose protection using one of the methods specified in this part cannot cause ignition of the surrounding explosive gas environment. Several different methods specified in this part can be used together with other methods specified in GB 3836.1—2010 to achieve protection purposes.
This part supplements and modifies the general requirements of GB 3836.1—2010, as shown in Table 1. When the requirements of this part conflict with those of GB 3836.1—2010, the requirements of this part shall take precedence.
