Abstract
This standard specifies the terms and definitions for the remanufacturing of spark-ignition and compression-ignition engines, the general technical requirements for disassembly, classification, and cleaning, the inspection and repair of major components, assembly, performance requirements, inspection requirements, and packaging and acceptance. This standard applies to the remanufacturing of automotive spark-ignition and compression-ignition engines. The remanufacturing of other engines can be carried out with reference to this standard.
