Abstract
This standard applies to fumed silica produced by the gas-phase method (hydrolysis of trichlorosilane in an oxygen-hydrogen flame), silica gel and hydrated silica produced by the gel method (reaction of sodium silicate solution with acid), and precipitated silica produced by the precipitation method (reaction of sodium silicate solution with acid).
