This document describes the method of determining the melting point of petroleum wax using the cooling curve method. This document is suitable for determining the melting point of solid petroleum wax at room temperature, but it is not suitable for determining the melting point of petroleum grease, microcrystalline wax, or mixtures of petroleum grease, microcrystalline wax, and paraffin or crude paraffin.
