This standard specifies the technical data (electrical ratings), classification, structural requirements, and performance and testing of connectors. This standard applies to connectors with a rated voltage of AC or DC 50 V to 1,000 V, and a rated current of no more than 125 A, for which there are no detailed specifications or where the safety requirements of this standard are referenced. For connectors with a rated voltage of no more than 50 V, this standard can be used as a reference. In this case, the electrical clearance and creepage distance shall refer to the provisions of GB/T 16935.1. This standard can also be used as a reference for connectors with a rated current of more than 125 A per contact. This standard does not apply to connectors used in or on equipment subject to existing applicable safety standards.
