This standard specifies the basic requirements for ensuring electrical safety throughout the entire life cycle of electrical equipment, including design, manufacturing, installation, use, and maintenance. It also outlines general principles for electrical safety in special locations and environmental conditions, as well as specific requirements for personnel. This standard applies to all types of electrical equipment and installations with a rated voltage of 1,000 V AC or less, and 1,500 V DC or less.
