GB/T 18329.1-2023 Plain bearings—Metallic multilayer plain bearings—Part 1:Non-destructive ultrasonic testing of bond of thickness greater than or equal to 0.5 mm
Abstract
This document specifies the ultrasonic testing method for bonding defects between bearing alloys and backing layers. This document is applicable to multi-layer metal sliding bearings with a backing layer made of steel or copper and a lining layer made of lead or tin alloys, where the lining layer thickness is not less than 0.5 mm. If the backing material is cast iron, this document is applicable under specific conditions. The method determines bonding defects by measuring the ultrasonic signals reflected at the interface between the bearing alloy and the backing layer. Due to the presence of uncertain reflected waves, ultrasonic testing cannot be performed within a half-ultrasonic probe range of the sliding surface, flange, mating surface, oil holes, oil grooves, and other edges. This also applies to bearings with dovetail grooves at the bonding surface. The bonding condition of the visible transition area (end face or mating surface) between the bearing alloy and the backing layer is evaluated by the non-destructive penetration method described in GB/T 18329.3-2021. This document only details the pulse reflection wave detection method. The ultrasonic testing method described in this document can only provide a qualitative evaluation of the bonding state and cannot obtain quantitative bonding strength. The difference in ultrasonic detection reflection waves only exists between the bonding area and bonding defects. This document only elaborates on the pulse reflection wave evaluation method of sticking the probe on the side of the bearing alloy. If the probe is stuck on the side of the backing layer, the signal processing method is similar to it.
