Abstract
This document describes a method for classifying the characteristics of ultrasonic indications produced by discontinuities. Based on the characteristics of the indications, internal discontinuities are divided into planar and non-planar types. This document is applicable to discontinuities on the surface of welds after removing the excess height of welds.
