GB/T 4956-2025 Non-magnetic coatings on magnetic substrates—Measurement of coating thickness—Magnetic method
Abstract
This document describes a non-destructive measurement method for the thickness of non-magnetic coatings on magnetic substrates.
This measurement method is accessible and non-destructive for typical coatings. The probe or instrument with an integrated probe is directly placed on the coating to be measured. The coating thickness is displayed on the instrument.
This document is applicable to the thickness measurement of paints and varnishes, electroplated layers, enamel coatings, plastic coatings, powder coatings, and cladding layers.
Note: This method is also used to measure the thickness of magnetic coatings on non-magnetic substrates made of metal or other materials (see GB/T 13744).
