This document provides test cases for data and communication security of remote control equipment, substation automation systems (SAS), and SCADA front-end devices.
This document provides a standard test method for protocol implementation to achieve interoperability, verifying that the device meets the requirements of IEC 62351-3. Compliance with the standard does not guarantee interoperability between different devices, but it is expected that using this document for testing will minimize the risk of non-interoperability. The basic condition for interoperability is that both devices can pass the compliance test.
This document specifies a common and feasible process and definitions for IEC 62351-3 compliance and/or interoperability testing. The compliance test cases defined in this document focus on verifying the consistent integration of the basic authentication/encryption protocol (TLS) specified in IEC 62351-3 to protect TCP/IP-based communication.
This document does not involve testing the basic authentication/encryption protocol (TLS) based on TCP/IP required by IEC 62351-3. The compliance test of the authentication/encryption protocol based on TCP/IP is not within the scope of this document.
This document relates to data and communication security compliance testing, and does not involve other requirements such as security or EMC. These requirements are addressed by other standards (if applicable), and the compliance proof for these parts follows other standards.
