GB/T 20895.2-2007

This part of GB/T 20895 specifies the methods for assessing the stability and buoyancy of intact (i.e., undamaged) boats, as well as the buoyancy of boats prone to waterlogging and sinking. Using this part to evaluate stability and buoyancy can help determine the design category (A, B, C, or D) appropriate for each boat based on its design load and maximum total load. This part applies to boats with a hull length of 6 m to 24 m, primarily powered by human or mechanical force. However, if these boats do not meet the design categories specified in GB/T 20895.3 (ISO 122173) and are equipped with decks and rapid water drainage recesses that comply with ISO 11812 requirements, they can also be applied to boats shorter than 6 m. This part does not include: — Inflatable boats and rigid inflatable boats not exceeding 8 m in length, as covered by ISO 6185; — Canoes, kayaks, or other boats with a width of less than 1.1 m. This part does not consider or evaluate the impact of towing, fishing, dredging, or lifting operations on stability. Such situations should be considered separately (if applicable).
