This standard specifies the basic classification, structural types, and main parameter series division of geotechnical engineering instrument products, among other typological characteristics. This standard provides a planning guide for the preparation of geotechnical engineering instrument product standards and technical specifications for such products. This standard applies to the research, design, manufacturing, and testing of various types of geotechnical engineering instruments, but does not apply to hydraulic, seismic, or environmental monitoring instruments.
