This standard specifies the principles, equipment, sampling, sample preparation, calibration and verification, and measurement steps for determining grain size using electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). This standard is applicable to measuring the average grain size of fully recrystallized polycrystalline metal materials. Other crystal materials that can produce high-quality and high-calibration rate electron backscatter diffraction patterns can refer to this method for implementation.
