This standard specifies the classification and designations, order contents, dimensions, shapes, and weights, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates for high-quality carbon structural steel bars. This standard applies to hot-rolled and forged high-quality carbon structural steel bars with a nominal diameter or thickness not exceeding 250 mm. Upon agreement between the supplier and the buyer, hot-rolled and forged high-quality carbon structural steel bars with a nominal diameter or thickness exceeding 250 mm (hereinafter referred to as "steel bars") may also be supplied. The grades and chemical compositions specified in this standard are also applicable to steel ingots, steel billets, steel materials of other cross-sections, and their products.
