Abstract
This document specifies the manufacturing, inspection, and acceptance requirements for steel pressure vessels designed using analytical methods.
This document applies to the manufacturing, inspection, and acceptance of steel pressure vessels, as well as composite plate pressure vessels with nickel and nickel alloys used as cladding, linings, or surfacing layers; lined pressure vessels; and pressure vessels with non-alloy steel, low-alloy steel, or high-alloy steel base layers.
The pressure vessel structures applicable to this document include single-layer welded pressure vessels (including controlled cylinders), forged-welded pressure vessels, jacketed pressure vessels, multi-layered wrapped pressure vessels (including multi-layered cylinder sections and multi-layered integral wrapping), and steel strip wrapped pressure vessels.
