GB/T 15166.4-2021 Active

This document specifies the terms and definitions of external fuses for parallel capacitors, normal and special operating conditions, performance requirements, type tests, etc.
This document is applicable to external fuses used with high-voltage capacitors that comply with GB/T 11024.1—2019.
Note: GB/T 11024.1—2019 is applicable to both the capacitor units used and the capacitor banks used, especially those used in AC power systems for power factor compensation, and also to capacitors in power filter circuits.
This document covers fuses used to eliminate internal faults in a single capacitor unit, allowing the remaining part of the capacitor bank connected to this unit to continue operating; and fuses used to eliminate faults in an entire capacitor bank and isolate it from the system. These fuses comply with the requirements of this document on the basis of conforming to GB/T 15166.2—2008 or GB/T 15166.3.
This document does not cover fuses that do not need to break capacitive currents (e.g., where no capacitive currents flow, or they are used as a "backup" for other devices (to break capacitive currents) to break large inductive currents), the requirements for which are specified in GB/T 15166.2—2008 or GB/T 15166.3.
In this document, the terms "capacitive currents" and "inductive currents" are used, on the one hand, to represent the test currents with advanced and lagging power factors; and, on the other hand, to represent the main capacitive or inductive components in the circuit. In situations where it is not necessary to emphasize the different meanings, the terms "capacitor units" and "capacitor banks" in this document can be replaced by the term "capacitors".
