Abstract
This standard specifies the security requirements for cryptographic modules, defines four security levels for cryptographic modules, and provides the corresponding requirements for each security level. This standard is applicable to cryptographic modules used in security systems to protect sensitive information in computer and telecommunications systems. This standard also provides guidance for the design and development of cryptographic modules and serves as a reference for the verification of the security requirements of cryptographic modules.
