This standard specifies the technical conditions for the scrapping of the main components of escalators and automatic walkways.
Note: The main components specified in this standard include those that have a significant impact on the safe operation of escalators and automatic walkways (such as drive units and handrail devices), but do not include some easily damaged components, components that use new technologies, and components that are rarely used in existing escalators and automatic walkways.
This standard applies to in-use escalators and automatic walkways.
