Abstract
This part of GB/T 17989 presents the key elements and basic principles of control chart methods, and defines various types of control charts (including conventional control charts, control charts emphasizing process acceptance or online process adjustment, and special control charts). This part only provides basic principles and concepts, and illustrates the relationships between various control chart methods with examples, in order to help select the most suitable control chart method in specific situations. This part does not provide the statistical control methods used in control charts, as this content is described in detail in other parts of GB/T 17989.
