Abstract
This standard specifies that the reciprocating pumps and pump units used in the oil, petrochemical, and natural gas industries are suitable for both direct-acting and motor-driven forms.
This standard does not apply to metering pumps and rotary pumps.
Note: For metering pumps, refer to API Std 675; for rotary pumps, refer to API Std 676.
