GB/T 20490-2023 Non-destructive testing(NDT) methods of steel tubes—Automated ultrasonic testing of seamless and welded steel tubes for the detection of laminar imperfections
Abstract
This document specifies the requirements for automatic ultrasonic testing of layered defects, including:
a) Full-circumference testing of seamless and welded steel pipes (except for submerged arc welded steel pipes);
b) Testing of the adjacent areas of welded steel pipes' welds;
c) Full-circumference testing of the ends of seamless and welded steel pipes.
This document is also applicable to the testing of circular hollow profiles.
Note: For welded steel pipes, the method of detecting layered defects in steel strips/steel plates before pipe forming is described in ISO 10893-9.
