Abstract
This document specifies the marking, usage conditions, technical requirements, classification, inspection rules, and test methods for DC surge arresters. This document applies to gapless metal oxide surge arresters installed on locomotives and traction power supply ground devices. These surge arresters are designed to limit overvoltages in DC power supply systems as specified in IEC 60850, with a system nominal voltage not exceeding 3 kV.
