This document specifies the safety requirements for all types of double-ended fluorescent lamps for general lighting purposes, including Fa6, Fa8, G5, G13, 2G13, R17d, and W4.3×8.5d.
This document describes the specific method by which manufacturers demonstrate that their products comply with the requirements of this document based on the results of a full product evaluation linked to the inspection records of finished lamps. This method is also used for product certification. This document details the batch inspection procedures, which provide a limited evaluation of the batch.
This document also specifies the photobiological safety requirements according to IEC 62471.
The blue light hazard and infrared hazard are below the levels requiring labeling.
Note: The qualification criteria in this document only concern safety indicators and do not consider the performance of double-ended fluorescent lamps for general lighting purposes, such as luminous flux, color, start-up, and operating characteristics. For these aspects, please refer to IEC 60081 when using this document.
