Abstract
This standard specifies the maximum electrical resistance of anti-static loop-type V-belts, V-belt sets, and single V-belts, including wide V-belts and hexagonal belts, and their test methods.
This standard is only applicable to new belts intended for use in environments with explosion or fire hazards. This test is established to ensure that the belts have sufficient conductivity to discharge the electric charge generated during operation.
In product control tests, it is determined by national standards or agreements with relevant parties whether to test every belt in a batch or to test a certain percentage of belts in each batch.
Note: For product acceptance tests, the belt manufacturer should determine which type of electrode and conductive coating material to use.
