This document specifies the technical requirements, test provisions, and test procedures for car protection against pedestrian collisions, as well as the calibration of impactors, determination of vehicle models, and implementation of standards.
This document applies to M1 and N1 class vehicles, except for M1 class vehicles with the driver's seat R-point located before the transverse plane of the front axle or with a horizontal distance between the driver's seat R-point and the transverse plane of the front axle not exceeding 1,100 mm, and having a maximum total mass greater than 2,500 kg; and N1 class vehicles with the driver's seat R-point located before the transverse plane of the front axle or with a horizontal distance between the driver's seat R-point and the transverse plane of the front axle not exceeding 1,100 mm.
