This standard specifies the classification and marking of safety ropes, technical requirements, testing methods, inspection rules, and labeling.
This standard applies to safety ropes used by personnel weighing no more than 100 kg for high-altitude work, climbing, and suspension operations.
This standard does not apply to safety ropes used for sports, firefighting, and other purposes.
