The chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following content: This document specifies the safety requirements for refrigeration appliances, ice cream machines, and ice makers for household and similar purposes. This document applies to single-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V, other appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 480 V, and appliances powered by batteries with a DC rated voltage not exceeding 24 V, including: -- Refrigeration appliances for household and similar purposes; -- Ice makers with an electric motor compressor and ice makers intended for installation in freezer food storage rooms; -- Refrigeration and ice-making appliances used in camping, motorhomes, and recreational boats. These appliances may be powered by the grid, by a separate battery, or by both methods. This document also applies to ice cream machines intended for household use, with a single-phase rated voltage not exceeding 250 V, and other appliances not exceeding 480 V. This document also applies to compression appliances for household and similar purposes that use flammable refrigerants. This document does not include the structure and operating characteristics of refrigeration appliances covered by other IEC standards. Refrigeration appliances that are not intended for general household use but may still pose a risk to the public are also within the scope of this document, such as: -- Refrigeration appliances used in employee kitchen areas in stores, offices, and other work environments; -- Refrigeration appliances used on farms and by guests in hotels, motels, and other residential environments; -- Refrigeration appliances used in home-based accommodation environments; -- Refrigeration appliances used in the catering industry and similar non-retail applications.
