This document specifies the special requirements for the safety of heat storage indoor heaters and similar appliances for household and similar purposes.
This document applies to single-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V, other appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 480 V, and appliances that are not intended for general household use but still pose a danger to the public, such as those used by people unfamiliar with electrical safety in stores, light industry, and farms.
The common hazards associated with the appliances covered by this document may be encountered by everyone in and around residential areas. However, in general, this document does not consider the following situations:
