Abstract
This standard applies to the food additive pentanedialdehyde (also known as glutaraldehyde), which is produced by the reaction of vinyl methyl ether or vinyl ethyl ether with propylene aldehyde to form 2-alkoxy-3,4-dihydropyran, and then hydrolyzed to obtain it.
