GB/T 15972.49-2021 Specifications for optical fibre test methods—Part 49:Measurement methods and test procedures for transmission characteristics—Differential mode delay
Abstract
This part of GB/T 15972 describes the test method for the differential mode delay of optical fiber, and establishes unified requirements for test devices, injection conditions, procedures, calculation methods, and results.
This part is applicable to the measurement of the differential mode delay of Class A1 graded index multimode optical fiber.
The test method determined in this part is generally used in indoor environments and is not suitable for operation in the field.
Note: The Gigabit Ethernet system uses lasers as light sources. When this system uses Class A1 multimode optical fiber as the transmission medium, the measurement results of the differential mode delay are used to evaluate the bandwidth performance of the multimode optical fiber under such application conditions.
