Abstract
This document specifies the classification and naming, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of recycled polystyrene (PS) and impact-resistant polystyrene (PSI) plastics. This document applies to recycled polystyrene plastic granules made from waste polystyrene through processes such as screening, sorting, cleaning, and melt extrusion granulation (including granulation processes such as drawing, thermal cutting, and/or water cutting). This document also applies to recycled impact-resistant polystyrene plastic granules made from waste impact-resistant polystyrene through processes such as screening, sorting, cleaning, and melt extrusion granulation (including granulation processes such as drawing, thermal cutting, and/or water cutting). This document does not apply to recycled plastics from hazardous waste such as medical waste and pesticide packaging, nor to radioactive waste. This document does not apply to plastics prepared by mixing polystyrene with other resin materials. This document does not apply to plastics prepared by mixing impact-resistant polystyrene with other resin materials.
