Abstract
This document provides principles, requirements, and guidelines for the ecological efficiency assessment of product systems, including the purpose and scope definition of ecological efficiency assessment, environmental evaluation, product system value assessment, ecological efficiency quantification, interpretation (including quality assurance), reporting, and appraisal review.
This document does not address requirements, recommendations, or guidelines for selecting specific environmental impact types or product system value types. The intended applications of ecological efficiency assessment were considered during the goal and scope definition phase, but the actual use of the results is beyond the scope of this document.
