Abstract
This section applies to surge protectors (hereinafter referred to as SPDs - Surge Protective Devices) used to protect telecommunications and signal networks directly or indirectly affected by lightning or other transient overvoltages.
The function of these SPDs is to protect modern electronic devices connected to telecommunications and signal networks with a nominal voltage of up to 1,000 V AC (rms) and 1,500 V DC.
