Abstract
This standard specifies the symbols and abbreviations, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and markings, labels, packaging, transportation, and storage of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). This standard applies to dimethyl sulfoxide obtained by synthesizing dimethyl sulfide from methanol and carbon disulfide (or methanol and hydrogen sulfide), and then refining it with pure oxygen.
