Abstract
This part of GB/T 15972 specifies the test method for the numerical aperture of optical fibers, and establishes unified requirements for test devices, injection conditions, procedures, calculation methods, and results. This part is applicable to the measurement of the numerical aperture of A1 and A2 class multimode optical fibers, and the commercial inspection of finished optical fiber cables. The measurement of the numerical aperture of A3 and A4 class multimode optical fibers can also be used as a reference.
