This standard specifies the terms and definitions, system composition, requirements, and test methods for digital radiography X-ray systems (hereinafter referred to as DR systems). This standard applies to DR systems used for general X-ray radiography. It includes, but is not limited to, DR systems using line-array or area-array detectors, such as: -- DR systems using flat-panel detectors (FPDs); -- DR systems using area-array CCD detectors; -- DR systems using line-array CCD detectors; -- DR systems using CMOS detectors, etc. For DR systems that use more than one digital X-ray image detector, this standard applies to each digital X-ray image detector and the X-ray generator used for imaging. This standard does not apply to systems using X-ray image intensifiers, systems using X-ray radiography imaging plates, breast X-ray equipment, dental X-ray equipment, computed tomography equipment, or mobile DR systems.
