This document specifies the technical requirements for seat belts and restraint systems for vehicle occupants, the installation requirements on vehicles, and the usage requirements, and describes the corresponding test methods and the determination of the same type.
This document applies to:
—— M-class and N-class vehicles equipped with seat belts and restraint systems for adult occupants used independently on forward-facing seats, rear-facing seats, and side-facing seats;
—— Seat belts and restraint systems for adult occupants used independently on forward-facing seats, rear-facing seats, and side-facing seats of M-class and N-class vehicles;
—— M-class and N-class vehicles equipped with child restraint systems;
—— All seating positions on M-class and N-class vehicles equipped with seat belts and corresponding seat belt reminder devices;
—— The installation of seat belts and integrated universal ISOFIX child restraint systems designed for side-facing seats of M3 class (II, III, or B class) vehicles on vehicles, but only applicable if requested by the vehicle manufacturer.
