GB/T 5174-2018 Surface active agents—Detergents—Determination of cationic-active matter content—Direct two-phase titration procedure
Abstract
This standard specifies the direct two-phase titration method for determining cationic active substances in surfactants and detergents. This standard is applicable to the determination of cationic active substances such as: a) mono-, di-, and tri-alkyl tertiary amine quaternary salts, and methyl sulfate quaternary salts; b) long-chain amides ethyl and alkyl imidazoline salts or 3-methyl imidazoline salts; c) oxide amines and alkyl pyridinium salts. This standard is applicable to solid active substances or aqueous solutions of active substances. If the content is expressed as a mass fraction, the average relative molecular mass of the cationic active substances is known or has been predetermined. This standard is not applicable to the determination in the presence of anionic or amphoteric surfactants.
