This standard specifies the terms and definitions, model numbering methods, basic parameters, technical requirements, and test methods for handheld hedge trimmers powered by lithium-ion batteries (hereinafter referred to as "lithium-ion hedge trimmers"). This standard applies to hedge trimmers that are operated by a single person, powered by rechargeable lithium-ion battery packs (battery groups) with a nominal voltage not exceeding 75 V DC, and used for trimming and cutting hedges and shrubs with one or more linear reciprocating cutting devices in general environmental conditions. This standard does not apply to: -- lithium-ion hedge trimmers with rotating blades; -- handheld hedge trimmers powered by universal battery packs or battery groups installed by the user; -- other handheld hedge trimmers powered by non-lithium-ion batteries.
