Abstract
This standard specifies the dimensional characteristics, neck strength, and surface roughness measurement methods for dental rotary instruments such as burs, cutting discs, polishing instruments, diamond instruments, and grinding instruments.
This standard does not provide testing methods for the material characteristics of dental rotary instruments.
Note: For testing of these characteristics, please refer to the respective product standards.
This standard does not apply to root canal instruments (see ISO 3630-1).
