GB/T 231.2-2022 Metallic materials—Brinell hardness test—Part 2:Verification and calibration of testing machines
Abstract
This document specifies the direct and indirect inspection methods for Brinell hardness testers (hereinafter referred to as hardness testers) used to determine Brinell hardness according to GB/T 231.1, and also stipulates the inspection cycle for hardness testers under these two methods. Direct inspection includes checking whether the performance parameters of the tested hardness tester are within the specified limits, while indirect inspection involves using standard hardness blocks calibrated according to GB/T 231.3 to perform hardness measurements to check the comprehensive performance of the hardness tester. If the hardness tester is also used for hardness testing by other methods, the hardness tester needs to be inspected separately for each method. This document is applicable to fixed and portable hardness testers. For hardness testers that cannot meet the specified force/time configuration, Appendix B provides a direct inspection procedure for improving the force and test cycle time of the hardness tester.
