The limits specified in this document are designed to protect broadcast receivers used in living environments within the frequency range of 30 MHz to 1,000 MHz. However, meeting the requirements of this document does not provide sufficient protection for new radio transmitters or receivers used in living environments within a distance of 10 m from vehicles, ships, or devices.
Note 1: Experience shows that compliance with this document can provide satisfactory protection for receivers used in other types of living environments, including radio transmissions outside the specified frequency range.
This document applies to electromagnetic emission sources that may cause interference to radio receivers.
Such emission sources include:
a) vehicles powered by internal combustion engines, electric drives, or a combination of both (see 3.1);
b) ships powered by internal combustion engines, electric drives, or a combination of both (see 3.2), measured in the same manner as vehicles, unless their unique performance is explicitly specified in this document;
c) devices equipped with internal combustion engines or power batteries (see 3.3).
Refer to the flowchart in Appendix G to help determine the applicability of this document.
This document does not apply to aircraft, household appliances, traction systems (trains, trams, and trolleybuses), and incomplete vehicles. For dual-mode trolleybuses (e.g., those powered by AC/DC power sources and internal combustion engines), the internal combustion engine-powered part falls within the scope of this document, while the AC/DC power source-powered part does not.
Note 2: For the protection of vehicle receivers, see GB/T 18655—2018.
This document does not include the measurement of electromagnetic interference when vehicles are connected to power sources for charging. Users can refer to relevant national standards that specify measurement methods and limits for such situations.
