This part of GB/T 30544 provides terms and definitions for materials with one or more components in the nanotechnology field that fall within the nanoscale category or exhibit performance at the nanoscale, aiming to promote communication among individuals and organizations in the nanotechnology-related industry and their stakeholders. A material may have different distribution and composition characteristics at the nanoscale, but this alone is not sufficient to classify it as having a nanostructure. Materials classified as having a nanostructure typically exhibit numerous distinctive features at the nanoscale in their internal and surface structures, such as grains, pores, or precipitates. Objects containing nanoscale objects or nanostructured materials are not necessarily nanostructured materials themselves. This part includes nanodispersions.
