Scope
This standard applies to the basin insulators used in AC gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear (hereinafter referred to as switchgear) with a rated voltage of 72.5 kV and above, and a rated frequency of 60 Hz and below, including pressurized and non-pressurized basin insulators (hereinafter referred to as insulators). This standard specifies the general requirements for the definition, usage conditions, rated values, design and structure, type testing, factory testing, as well as marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of insulators. The insulators used in the inflatable compartments of AC metal-enclosed switchgear with a rated voltage of 3.6 kV to 40.5 kV and a rated frequency of 60 Hz and below, including pressurized and non-pressurized ones, are also included in the scope of this standard.
